We will miss him

ImageI am very saddened to report that my father passed away in his home on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009.

He impacted so many lives, but none greater than his immediate family.

We will always remember him as the most passionate and dedicated husband, kind and loving father, adoring and doting grandfather, and best friend to all.

He left us with a lifetime of humor, compassion, wisdom, direction and so much more. He is within each of us. And he will remain there for an eternity of guidance.

40th Anniversary

Yesterday, Janet Jo and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary.  Neither of us can believe how fast that time flew by.  As we reminisced at dinner Saturday evening it seemed like just yesterday that I drove all night from San Diego to get Janet Jo in Tucson.  Then on to Las Vegas where we were married at about 6:00 o'clock in the evening on November 1, 1969 at the Chapel of the Roses.  Melvin Peckrel, the local Baptist minister, prisiding.

Paul and Colleen came from Tuscon to stand up for us at the wedding, then we all enjoyed a really wonderful evening.  We saw a show with Red Fox and the Baja Marimba Band that night.

The next day it was on to Grand Island so I could introduce Janet Jo to my family and of course them to her.  We made our first hom in San Diego while I was still in the Navy.  Forty years... and a great forty years it has been.
